Tamko Fence Installation in Las Vegas, NV

Tamko Fence Installation: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Tamko-compatible fencing systems across the Las Vegas valley, with most residential fence installation projects running $3,500-$9,000 depending on linear footage, terrain, and material grade. Our crews carry Tamko-spec posts, rails, and hardware on every truck, and we can typically start within 24-48 hours of your call. Most homeowners realize their fence is failing when posts lean after a windstorm, pickets warp in the desert heat, or gates sag and won’t latch - problems that get worse fast when the original installer used substandard fasteners or skipped the concrete footing depth Las Vegas soil demands.

Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Tamko doesn’t manufacture fence panels directly, but their Elements Steel Fencing and Elements Aluminum Fencing lines are the systems we match most often in Las Vegas. Look for the Tamko stamp on the bottom rail or the laser-etched SKU on the post cap - typically starting with TEF- for steel or TEA- for aluminum. If the label’s sun-faded (common after three Vegas summers), measure your post wall thickness: Tamko steel posts run 16-gauge on residential grades, 14-gauge on commercial, while their aluminum posts are .125″ wall standard.

We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Tamko, so we source both OEM Tamko components and quality-matched equivalents from Ameristar and Specrail when Tamko lead times stretch out. The aftermarket rails we use meet the same galvanization spec - G90 coating minimum - which matters here because the alkaline soil in Summerlin and Centennial Hills will eat lesser steel in under five years. We’ll tell you exactly which route we’re taking and why before we cut anything.

Signs Your Tamko Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts lean or wobble at the base. In Las Vegas, this usually means the original crew poured shallow footings - 18 inches instead of the 24-30 inches our frost-heave code requires - or used dry-stack rock instead of wet concrete. The ground doesn’t lie, and neither do we: a leaning post is a failed post.
  • Picket gaps widen or boards twist. Our 110°F summer cycles cause cheap cedar pickets to check and cup. Tamko’s steel and aluminum systems avoid this, but if someone retrofitted wood pickets onto a Tamko rail system, you’ll see warp within two seasons.
  • Gate drags or the latch won’t engage. Most often the post shifted (see above), or the original installer used a standard hinge where a Tamko-specific adjustable barrel hinge was spec’d. The weight of a steel gate will tear through generic hardware in months.
  • Rust blooms at post bases or rail ends. Even galvanized steel fails if the cut ends weren’t field-treated with cold-galvanizing compound. We see this constantly on DIY installs in Henderson where the homeowner used a chop saw and skipped the touch-up.
  • Concrete footings crack and heave. The expansive clay in parts of North Las Vegas pushes shallow footings upward every winter. You need a 4-inch gravel bed below the concrete, and most original installers skip it to save $40 in material.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Project Scope Typical Range (Las Vegas)
Single post replacement (concrete, hardware, labor) $350-$650
Gate rebuild (posts, frame, hardware, hang) $800-$1,800
20-linear-foot section replacement $1,200-$2,800
Full residential fence installation (Tamko-compatible) $3,500-$9,000

What drives the range: access (can we get a mini-mixer to the backyard in Green Valley, or are we hand-mixing?), soil condition (caliche means auger rental), and whether we’re matching existing paint or powder coat. Our quotes include demolition and haul-away, new concrete with rebar reinforcement, and all fasteners rated for the material. Every fence installation carries our 730-Day Done Right Promise - if a post shifts or a gate sags, we make it right without a service call charge.

DIY or Call Us?

Here’s what you can safely check yourself: verify the post is actually loose (rock it by hand), look for the Tamko label to confirm your system, and measure the affected section. What goes wrong fast: digging near utility lines (Nevada law requires an 811 call, and most homeowners forget), mixing concrete wrong in 105° heat (it flash-sets weak), and underestimating the weight of a steel gate - a 6-foot panel runs 80 pounds, and one slip means a crushed foot or worse.

We don’t recommend DIY for load-bearing posts or any gate over 4 feet wide. The liability isn’t worth the savings, and we’ve been called to too many jobs where the homeowner’s “fix” made the damage $800 more expensive. If you’re in Las Vegas, Summerlin, Henderson, or North Las Vegas and want it done once, call (855) 951-4361. We’ll answer live, 24/7, and most fence repairs are completed in a single visit.
