PGT Fence Installation in Las Vegas, NV

PGT Fence Installation: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

We stock and install PGT-compatible fence systems across Las Vegas, with typical installed pricing running $3,500-$9,000 depending on materials, linear footage, and terrain conditions. Most residential PGT fence projects in the Las Vegas valley are completed in 1-3 days once materials arrive. If your current fence is leaning, rotting at the posts, or no longer securing your property, the failure usually starts with the post footings or rail connections - parts that take the brunt of our 110°F summer expansion cycles and occasional hard desert rains.

Which PGT Models This Applies To

PGT builds fence systems primarily through their vinyl and composite divisions, with the most common residential lines being the PGT Vinyl Privacy series, PGT Ranch Rail, and the newer PGT Sequoia composite line. The critical compatibility point is the post dimension: PGT vinyl systems use a proprietary 5-inch square post with a routed slot system for horizontal rails, while standard big-box vinyl fence uses 4-inch posts with bracket-mounted rails. That one inch matters - mix the two and your rails won’t seat properly, or worse, they’ll pop under wind load.

To identify your PGT system, check the inside of the post cap for a molded date stamp and series code, or look for the PGT logo embossed on the bottom rail. If your fence was installed between 2012 and 2019, there’s a good chance it’s the PGT Classic series, which used a slightly different rail profile than current production. We carry both the original Classic profile and the current PGT standard profile on our trucks, along with the stainless-steel rail clips that fail first in Las Vegas heat. We’re an independent service provider - not affiliated with PGT - so we source both OEM PGT components and quality-matched equivalents where the OEM lead time doesn’t make sense for your timeline.

Signs Your PGT Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts leaning or wobbling at the base. In Las Vegas, this almost always means the concrete footing has cracked from soil expansion and contraction. Our clay-heavy soils in areas like Summerlin and Centennial Hills shrink dramatically in dry spells, then swell when we get those sudden July downpours. The footing cracks, the post tilts, and the whole run goes out of plumb.
  • Rails pulling out of post slots. PGT’s routed-slot design is clean-looking but depends on tight tolerances. After 6-10 years of thermal cycling - 40°F winter nights to 115°F August afternoons - the vinyl expands and contracts enough that the rail ears fatigue. You’ll see a gap open between rail end and post, or the rail will slide vertically in the slot.
  • Gate sagging or binding. PGT gates use a steel internal frame with adjustable corner brackets. The adjustment screws seize up from dust and heat cycling, or the bottom bracket cracks from the weight of the gate pulling against a post that’s shifted in its footing. A sagging PGT gate will eventually tear its hinges out of the post.
  • Discoloration or surface pitting on vinyl. Las Vegas UV exposure is brutal. PGT vinyl has titanium dioxide UV inhibitors, but after 12-15 years the surface layer degrades. What starts as chalking progresses to micro-cracks that hold dust and hard water, giving that gray, streaked look you see on older west-facing fence lines.
  • Post caps cracking or blowing off. Seems minor, but a missing cap lets water into the hollow post. One good rain and you’ve got standing water that freezes in winter, expands, and splits the post from the inside. We see this constantly in the higher elevations around the northwest valley where overnight lows dip below freezing.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope Typical Range
Full PGT vinyl fence replacement (standard lot) $3,500-$9,000
Partial rebuild (3-4 posts, 2 sections) $1,200-$2,800
Gate rebuild with new steel frame $650-$1,400
Post replacement (single, including footing) $350-$650
Rail replacement (per 8-ft section) $85-$160

What drives the range: linear footage is obvious, but the bigger variables are terrain slope (stepped installation takes more labor), access for our auger truck, and whether we’re matching existing PGT colors that may be discontinued. PGT’s “Saddle Tan” and “Weathered Cedar” from the 2015-2018 production runs are both discontinued; we can source close matches or recommend current equivalents. Every fence installation we do carries our 730-Day Done Right Promise - if a post settles or a gate binds inside two years, we come back and make it right. Upfront pricing, no surprises: the number you see on your estimate is the number you pay.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s a clear line here. A homeowner can safely check whether a post is loose by rocking it at ground level, and you can tighten a PGT gate hinge with a socket wrench if the bolt is accessible. But fence work in Las Vegas has two hazards that make full installation a pro job: the auger work for footings (underground utilities are everywhere, and 811 locates don’t catch private lines like pool equipment conduits), and the structural math of wind load. Our valley sees sustained 40-mph spring winds and gusts to 70 mph; a PGT fence built without proper post depth and concrete volume will be in your neighbor’s pool by April.

We bring a Ditch Witch auger, concrete mixer, and full PGT parts inventory on every fence truck. Most residential replacements are done in a single day. If you’re staring at a leaning section or a gate that won’t latch, call (855) 951-4361 - we answer live, 24/7, and we’ll get a technician out to measure and spec it right.
