Cover Windows & Doors in Las Vegas, NV

Cover Windows & Doors: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Cover-compatible windows and doors across the Las Vegas valley, with most replacements running $4,500-$15,000 for full window replacement and $8,000-$25,000 for impact-rated installations depending on your opening count and series. Same-day measurements are available, and we carry common Cover hardware and sash components on our trucks for faster turnaround. Most Las Vegas homeowners realize something’s wrong when the window won’t stay open on its own, or they feel that familiar desert heat bleeding through what used to be a tight seal.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover has shifted their model numbering a few times over the past decade, so the label location matters. On their vinyl double-hung units, you’ll find the production sticker on the top of the sash frame, visible when you lower the upper sash about six inches. Their older 3000 Series used a different cam lock geometry than the current 5000 Series, meaning the hardware isn’t interchangeable even when the window dimensions match. We’ve also seen homeowners order replacement sashes for what they thought was a 4000 Series slider, only to discover it’s a 4000T thermal-break variant with a deeper frame profile.

We carry OEM Cover balances, tilt latches, and weatherstripping, plus quality aftermarket equivalents from Truth Hardware and Amesbury when the OEM lead time stretches past what Las Vegas heat will allow. The aftermarket route saves roughly 15-20% on parts, but we won’t install them on impact-rated units where the original certification depends on factory-matched components. If your windows were part of a new-build package installed between 2012 and 2018, double-check whether you’ve got the standard or the “Desert Series” upgrade, the latter used heavier-duty balances that look identical but carry a different spring weight.

Signs Your Cover Windows & Doors Is Failing

  • The sash drops or won’t stay raised. This means the constant-force balance spring has fatigued. In Las Vegas, the thermal cycling, 110°F summers followed by 40°F winter nights, kills these springs faster than in milder climates. We replace the balance cartridge, not just the spring, because the housing wears too.
  • Visible gaps at the meeting rail or frame perimeter. The bulb-style weatherstripping compresses permanently after 7-10 years of UV exposure. Once it’s flattened, no amount of adjustment restores the seal. We see this most on west-facing elevations in Summerlin and Centennial Hills.
  • Condensation between glass panes. The edge seal has failed and the desiccant is saturated. In Nevada’s low humidity, this actually means the seal was deteriorating for a while before you noticed. The glass unit needs replacement, not just defogging.
  • Difficulty locking or unlocking. The cam lock mechanism has worn, or the frame has settled slightly out of square. In older Cover patio doors, the mortise lockset can also corrode from alkaline dust accumulation. We check both before ordering parts.
  • Cracking or chalking on the exterior vinyl. This is UV degradation of the cap stock. Once the surface layer breaks down, the substrate absorbs heat differently and warping follows. We’ve replaced entire banks of windows in Henderson homes where this went unaddressed for two summers.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Cover window replacement in Las Vegas, budget $4,500-$15,000 for standard vinyl window replacement depending on opening count, series, and whether we’re working around existing stucco or siding. Impact window installation runs $8,000-$25,000, with the premium driven by laminated glass, reinforced frames, and Miami-Dade certification requirements that many Las Vegas buyers now want for insurance discounts.

That price includes removal and disposal of the old unit, new Cover or equivalent window, exterior trim integration, interior finish work, and full cleanup. We’re upfront about it: if we open the wall and find rotted framing or non-compliant header sizing, we’ll stop, show you, and quote the repair before proceeding. No surprises. Every window job carries our 730-Day Done Right Promise, if it’s not done right, we make it right, and that covers both installation workmanship and the seal integrity of the glass unit.

DIY or Call Us?

Here’s what you can safely check yourself: verify the model number from the sash label, confirm the rough opening dimensions with a tape measure, and inspect the exterior trim for obvious water staining. What you shouldn’t do is attempt to remove a fixed sash or replace a balance spring without proper support, a dropped sash on a second-story opening is a hospital trip, and the spring itself stores enough tension to cause serious hand or facial injury.

We’ve been called to more than a few Las Vegas homes where a homeowner got the old window out and realized the replacement didn’t account for the stucco return, or the new construction flange wouldn’t fit the existing opening. At that point, you’ve got a hole in the wall and afternoon sun pouring in. Call us at (855) 951-4361 before you’re committed. We’ll measure twice, order once, and most Cover replacements are completed in a single day.
